No, they are crafted from high-fire porcelain. The sculpted animals on the No Planet B design are integrated just like the cup handle, forming a single, solid piece of porcelain. Are they microwave and dishwasher safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Porcelain is the strongest ceramic material, the cups are microwave and dishwasher safe just like your other tableware. However, please pay attention to two things: For the No Planet B cups, ensure the sculpted animal doesn't get caught in the dishwasher rack and is completely clear of the rotating spray arm. 
For the Universe Design, the cement saucer is impregnated but has not been tested in microwaves or dishwashers. Wiping it clean with a damp sponge is perfectly sufficient. You can find more about it here.

Are the pieces food safe?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Our products have been tested certified that they meet all EU safety standards. They are 100% lead-free, cadmium-free, barium-free, nickel-free, and chromium-free. We work exclusively with dining-appropriate processes, and we never use our studio tools for any non-food-safe ceramics.
